STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

Each year the Canberra Choral Society offers a limited number of choral scholarships to support full-time students studying within any academic discipline at university level. Preference will be given to applicants under the age of 35.

The scholarships are valued at $800 and are paid in four instalments of $200 over the course of the calendar year. In addition, the successful applicants receive complimentary membership of the Canberra Choral Society for the year of their scholarship.

Applications will be assessed by the Committee of the Canberra Choral Society, with scholarships awarded on the basis of merit and performance at a choral audition.

Scholarship awardees will be required to conform with standard membership requirements of the Canberra Choral Society, specifically in relation to attendance, rehearsal and concert performance commitments.

Failure to meet membership expectations may result in termination of scholarship payments.

Applications must be made on the official application form and submitted to the Secretary of the Canberra Choral Society by 1 March each year.
